Melo Group has submitted plans to build Urban22, a new construction project with 441 apartments near Edgewater.
The proposal includes two towers rising 15 stories.
In addition to the residential units, the project is also proposed to include 7,168 square feet of commercial space, and 5,629 square feet of office space.
A parking garage is being built but will be completely masked with habitable liners. In total 529 parking spaces are proposed.
A letter from the developer states:
The Project’s design along the ground floor responds primarily to human scale and pedestrian interests. The Project provides inviting public sidewalks with landscaping, hardscaping, and other improvements. The proposed pedestrian amenities promote pedestrian interaction and provide a connection to the surrounding area. Parking for the Project is masked with Habitable Liners along all frontages which minimizes the visual impact a parking garage would have on the pedestrian realm and the urban landscape.
Melo Group is developing the property using an entity called Cardinal Plaza Corp.
G3 Design of Miami Beach is the architect of record.
The project is scheduled for a hearing before the Urban Development Review Board on April 21.
