Miami hotspot Prime 112 closed down its entire bar so that Drake could eat in peace before a show, Page Six has exclusively learned.
The rap superstar, 34, made a surprise appearance at J. Cole’s concert at the sold-out FTX Arena on Friday night.
But before the show, we’re told Drake dropped by the famed steakhouse, which went out of its way to make him comfortable.
”Drake took over the restaurant’s bar area, where he dined with friends. The entire bar area was shut down for him,” a source said. “Everyone got a glimpse of the superstar as he casually ate his meal and relaxed before the show.”
Meanwhile, on another recent visit to the restaurant, the “God’s Plan” musician made a bold — and, as it turned out, correct — prediction about the success of his new album, “Certified Lover Boy.”
We’re told he wrote in the restaurant’s guest book, “PLATINUM BEFORE OCTOBER. CLB. September 18, 2021. To my brother Myles [Chefetz, the spot’s owner].”
It was certified platinum by September 24.
J. Cole, 36, brought out Drake as a surprise to close Friday’s opening night of his “Off-Season Tour,” according to the Miami New Times.
The pair shared an emotional moment onstage, according to the paper, when Drake said to J. Cole, “You know, you did that ‘Pipe Down’ freestyle the other day, right? You was saying in that freestyle that they handed you the bronze, whatever. … Me and Kendrick [Lamar are ahead of you].”
He continued, “I just want you to understand something: You are genuinely, without a doubt, one of the greatest rappers to ever touch a mic. I just want to let you know, there’s way too many people in the world that think and know that J. Cole is in that top totem pole position.”
Drake then concluded, “You’re my brother. I love you. You’re one of my favorite artists, and I always appreciate you.”
