Two Doral Police Officers Shot Near Miami-Dade Police Headquarters

MIAMI – Two Doral police officers were shot Friday morning near the Miami-Dade police headquarters.

It happened in the area of NW 92nd Avenue and NW 24th Street.

According to a senior law enforcement source, one Doral officer was shot in the arm and the second received injuries to his face, possibly from flying shrapnel as a result of the shooting. The source said the shooting stemmed from what is described as “a road rage incident” in which the two Doral officers responded, and it escalated into a shooting.

A large perimeter was set up after the shooting.

Police have closed NW 33rd Street from 87th to 97th avenues.

The shooting investigation has caused a major traffic problem in the area.
