Related Companies – which was founded by Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross – has announced plans to build a supertall office tower in Miami in partnership with Swire Properties, according to Bloomberg.
Related will partner with Swire to develop One Brickell City Centre. The developers recently filed plans with the FAA to build at 1,040 feet above ground.
Work will start in 2023.
Swire had previously revealed plans for an 80-story tower on the site with a mix of office, residential, hotel and retail. It isn’t clear if all of those components will remain.
Related is the developer behind Hudson Yards in New York, which is said to be the largest private development in the history of the U.S.
Ross, who grew up in Miami, is Related’s chairman.
“The momentum in the Miami office market is extraordinary,” Ross said in a statement.
Major companies are now on the hunt for office space in Miami, Ross added. “The large national firms we work with across the country are actively seeking the world-class office product we’re known for delivering.”
It will be the tallest and largest office tower in Florida, the report said.
