MIAMI – Police responded to the scene of a shooting near Northwestern Senior High School that left a student hurt.

The student was seen conscious and alert as he was lifted on a gurney and placed inside a City of Miami Fire Rescue truck Monday afternoon.

Law enforcement told 7News that the student was grazed by a bullet.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools confirmed that the student was involved in this incident and that it took place near the school.

Miami Police were also in the location of Northwest 10th Avenue and 69th Street, where they were seen looking for evidence and an apartment complex close by the school was cordoned off with crime scene tape.

So far, no arrests have been made.

The motive of the shooting is still under investigation.
