Man dead after fatal shooting in Miami

Police are searching for a shooter after a man was fatally shot in Miami.

City of Miami Police said they received reports of shots fired near Northwest 14th Street and 34th Avenue, at around 12:30 a.m., Monday.

One woman who lives nearby said she heard at least five shots ring out.

When she went outside, she said, police were already surrounding the body.

Kathia Camacho was blocked from getting home by the crime tape police put up.

“My husband goes ahead and he leaves work at 12 o’clock,” she said. “It happened right here, a block and a half away, so all of this is just mind boggling.”

Medical examiners removed a body from the scene just after 8 a.m.

Police said the victim is a male who is about 35 years old.

“It’s alarming, and it’s very sad during the holidays,” said Camacho. “I’m scared, you know. I hope that they find the person.”

If you have any information on this shooting, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a $1,000 reward.
