Miami-Dade Mayor Daniella Levine Cava reported Thursday that the curfew time will be extended on Christmas and New Years nights.
Instead of starting at midnight, on those days the curfew will be imposed by the police at 1:00 am.
In a message that was posted on her Twitter account, the mayor said that the police will not arrest people who are returning home after 1:00 a.m., but they will be vigilant of meetings that take place after the time of the curfew.
In recent days, the police in several cities of the county began to monitor and enforce the curfew starting at 12:00 am, due to the increase in cases of coronavirus.
Despite the curfew, nightclubs in Miami are still open, full of people and without measures against the coronavirus
