Miami Hurricanes to play in Orlando’s Cheez-It Bowl

Miami is set to play in Orlando’s Cheez-It Bowl, according to Stadium’s Brett McMurphy.

Bowl matchup are rolling out in waves Sunday, with the College Football Playoff semifinal matchups set at noon and the rest of the postseason matchups falling into place.

The Hurricanes are led by dynamic transfer quarterback D’Eriq King and at times flirted with vying for a spot in the ACC Championship Game. The team was competitive throughout coach Manny Diaz’s second season despite a COVID-19 outbreak that caused alterations to the schedule and depleted the roster available for some games. Diaz was among those who tested positive for the virus.

 

Miami’s bowl opponent in the Cheez-It Bowl kicking off Dec. 29 at 5:30 p.m. and the teams playing in the Vrbo Citrus Bowl kicking off Jan. 1 at 1 p.m. and FBC Mortgage Cure Bowl kicking off Dec. 28 at noon will be revealed later Sunday. The games will all be played at Camping World Stadium, which is scheduled to allow a limited number of fans in compliance with Orange County COVID-19 safety protocols.
