A crash that involved multiple vehicles Tuesday morning shut down all lanes of the Palmetto Expressway off Northwest 154th Street in Miami Lakes.
Sky 10 was over the scene at 6 a.m. as one of the vehicles was on top of the median, fully engulfed in flames.
Authorities shut down all northbound and southbound lanes as firefighters extinguished the flames.
According to Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Alex Camacho, a Ford sedan was heading north on the highway when the driver lost control and crashed the car into the median barrier wall.
Camacho said the Ford drove over the barrier wall and struck three other vehicles that were heading south.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue officials confirmed four people were injured in the crash. Three were taken to an area hospital and one was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center.
