Miami International Airport released statistics today showing a major increase in passenger volume for the first few months of 2022.

In total, 16,899,327 passengers arrived or departed MIA between January and April of 2022.

MIA’s passenger count was 92% higher than the same period in 2021, when there were 8,799,594 passengers.

Domestic passenger count was also 26% higher than the same period in 2019 – which itself was a record year for the airport, just before the pandemic.

Overall passenger count for the January-April period was 6% higher than the same period in 2019, with international passenger numbers still not fully recovered.
