MIAMI – Rescue crews took a man to the hospital after, police said, he was struck while riding a motorcycle in Miami by a driver who fled the scene.
City of Miami Police units responded to the scene of the crash near Northwest 12th Avenue and 31st Street, around 12:20 p.m., Sunday.
Investigators believe the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run might be a black pickup truck.
Paramedics transported the victim to Jackson Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
Police shut down Northwest 12th Avenue between 30th and 31st streets while they investigated. It has since reopened to traffic.
The crash remains under investigation.
