MIAMI GARDENS, Fla. – Authorities are investigating a triple shooting that took place at a Miami Gardens hotel.

According to police, three people were shot at the Stadium Hotel located on Northwest 27th Avenue, just north of Hard Rock Stadium.

One person was taken into custody, police said.

 

Officers told Local 10 News’ Christian De La Rosa that all three victims, and the shooter, appear to be students at ASA College, which offers student housing at the hotel.

The gunfire was reported around noon Wednesday.

Officers arrived at the hotel quickly and put the building on lockdown. They found the three victims and the shooter shortly after they arrived.

Police said two of the victims suffered non-life threatening injuries from the gunfire.

Another man was shot in the upper body, and he is in critical condition at a nearby hospital, police said.

 

“It is to our knowledge that we have the ASA College that has a football team that has rooms here on certain floors of the hotel,” said Officer Carolyn Frazer with Miami Gardens PD. “Where the shooting actually occurred is still under investigation.”

Frazer said at this time officers believe the victims and the shooter are all members of the football team.

None of the victims or the shooter have been identified.

Detectives said witnesses are cooperating and they aren’t looking for anyone else involved at this time.
